The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District is within the traditional territory of ten First Nations. The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District is a federation consisting of member Municipalities; Port Alberni, Tofino, Ucluelet, Treaty First Nations; Huu-ay-aht, Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ, Uchucklesaht Tribe Government and Toquaht Nation and six electoral areas; “A” (Bamfield), “B” (Beaufort), “C” (Long Beach), “D” (Sproat Lake), “E” (Beaver Creek) and “F” (Cherry Creek).
Farm operations in the area vary widely; from those occupying the coastal temperate rainforest, to the inlets of Clayoquot Sound, to the rich valleys at the base of the Beaufort range. Agricultural land is plentiful, and in many cases, very affordable.
