This stunning ALR property on the Naramata Bench (overlooking Okanagan Lake) is now available for lease! The land is split into defined sections, perfect for a mixed-use operation: there are currently peach, apple, plum, walnut and apricot trees spread across the property, as well as an established vineyard, three grazing pastures, and additional arable growing space for vegetables or flowers. Dear Farmers and Friends, Today, on Indigen Dear Farmers and Friends,

Today, on Indigenous Peoples Day, we are thinking about Indigenous stewardship, and how it is critical to the future of our planet. Colonization sought to remove Indigenous peoples from their land and food systems, on territories they have stewarded since time immemorial. It is our collective responsibility to support Indigenous people's stewardship, land title, and rights amid the ongoing realities of colonization.

Across Turtle Island there is incredible work being done by Indigenous communities to restore waterways, expand Indigenous fire stewardship practices, build Indigenous Food Sovereignty, and so much more. While by no means comprehensive, we've included a few of those projects in today's newsletter (check your inbox!), as well as funding, volunteer, and learning opportunities. If you haven't yet subscribed to our newsletter, you can give it a read at the link in our bio!

🐝 Happy National Pollinator Week! 🐝This we 🐝 Happy National Pollinator Week! 🐝This week, let's take a moment to appreciate the essential role of pollinators and how they contribute to the beauty and balance of our natural world.Pollinators play a key role in our food supply and ecosystems - around 75% of all flowering plant species need animal pollinators for reproduction - to produce seeds, fruit, and vegetables. Beyond their role in food production, pollinators also play a vital role in maintaining biodiversity by helping to pollinate plants that provide habitats and food for other wildlife.Unfortunately, pollinators face various challenges today. Habitat loss, pesticide use, climate change, and disease have all contributed to their decline worldwide. It's crucial that we work to protect them. Here's how you can make a difference:🌻Plant pollinator-friendly gardens: Create a haven for pollinators in your own backyard by planting native flowers, shrubs, and trees.🌻Leave wild areas: Unmanaged "weedy" areas or hedgerows on the edges of lawns or farms can give pollinators food and nesting habitat.🌻Reduce or eliminate pesticide use: Many types of pesticides have been shown to negatively affect pollinators.🌻Spread awareness: Share information about pollinators with your community.🌻Get involved: Volunteer with local conservation organizations or join community initiatives focused on pollinator conservation.Let's make every week pollinator week!📽: @aimeeswildlifephotos#PollinatorWeek #ProtectOurPollinators #bees #pollinators
