The farmers at Broadfork Farm have been happily using their caterpillar tunnels for four years now but have made a few refinements along the way. Learn how to use this innovative strategy to extend your growing season!
This hands-on opportunity will teach others the step by step process of how to construct and use caterpillar tunnels; key considerations; sourcing materials; costs and more!
As all participants will take part in constructing four tunnels, please wear farm-appropriate clothing and footwear, including gloves, a hat, water bottle (water will be supplied), and any other weather-appropriate items.
Snacks will be provided but please bring your own lunch!
Registration is limited to the first 15 people that RSVP. To RSVP, please email email@example.com (a Facebook join to this event does not count as an RSVP). This workshop is free, though small ($10-$20) donations are encouraged for the Grow A Farmer Fund. Join the Facebook event here!
Broadfork Farm is located at 3630 Boars Back Rd., River Hebert, NS.
Workshop will run from 10am-4pm
