Young Edmonton Grant Are you a youth living in the Edmonton area and have a great idea for a farming-related event? Young Edmonton Grants (YEG) may be a great way to do that! The YEG program gives funding for projects initiated, led, and organized by young Edmonton and area residents. These grants range from $500-$3,000 and are available for residents between the ages of 13 and 24. The grant is intended to support young residents who partner with a registered charity to create their own projects or initiatives. WAGE SUBSIDY OPPORTUNITIES FOR FARMS Are you a farm looking for a wage subsidy to hire labour? Here are four federally funded programs to consider in 2018. For a youth to qualify to be hired using one of these programs, they cannot be accessing a wage subsidy through another federally funded program. This urban farm job position will help Fresh Roots steward two 1⁄2 acre schoolyard market gardens on school grounds in the heart of East and South Vancouver.
