BC vegetable farmers are wanted to respond to a survey about their farm management! The survey will include questions about field management practices, seed practices, technology use, and employment. The study is being conducted by Dr. Hannah Wittman (Principal Investigator), Susanna Klassen (Doctoral Candidate), and Chris Thoreau (Masters Student), from the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at the University of British Columbia.   Your responses will help us to better understand your experiences and the sustainability challenges facing vegetable farmers like you, and contribute to ongoing research out of the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm. Young Agrarians comes to Manitoba! On December 7, 38 farmers and food lovers gathered at the beautiful Rackham hall near Riding Mountain National Park for a Young Agrarians Mixer. Being one of the first Young Agrarians gatherings in Manitoba, we spent time getting to know each other and discussing the needs and opportunities for new and existing farmers in the region. We met people raising livestock, organic grain, doing marketing gardening, growing mushrooms and of course much, much more! We shared laughs, ideas and of course some amazing food!
