You’re invited to a Farm Tour & Potluck at A Rocha Farm in Surrey, BC! A Rocha is a christian non-profit focused on caring for the environment through education, conservation science and sustainable agriculture. Their farm is about 2.5 acres with about half of their production in a no-till system (they just switched over this year!). Their primary focus is their CSA with 170 shares, but they also sell at their farm market on site, do a bit of wholesale and restaurant sales, and donate shares/produce to partner agencies through grants and donations. From June to December 2021, Young Agrarians teamed up with four farms and six organizations and educators to present the Columbia Basin Farm Club event series, an on- and off-farm opportunity to learn together. Over 160 producers and farm-curious folks joined us over the course of the ten in-person and online events! EVENT RECAP: Land Social at Jewel Creek Farm

On September 11, 2021, we gathered with more than 30 people for a socially-distanced outdoor Land Social at Jewel Creek Farm just outside of Greenwood, B.C., unceded and traditional territory of the Syilx Nation. Land Socials connect farmers and farmland holders, and set them up to receive ongoing support through the program, as well as anyone who loves food, farming, and getting out onto the land. EVENT RECAP: Farm Tour at Bent Plow Farm

On September 27, 2021, Young Agrarians, Kootenay & Boundary Farm Advisors and Bent Plow Farm presented the fifth event of the Young Agrarians 2021 Farm Club event series, an evening farm tour and discussion at Bent Plow Farm in Blewett, BC, 10 minutes from Nelson. Despite the drizzle, 23 people showed up to tour the farm with owners and operators Emma and Scott and talk about the ins and outs of market garden production for CSAs, succession planting, irrigation, building soil and more.
