This farm tour is one you most certainly won’t want to miss! We’ll be visiting three farms that highlight the incredible diversity of producers in Central Alberta, including a haskap orchard, a rotational-grazing ranch and a hydroponics lettuce grower. During a walk around of each farm, the farmers will talk about about how they started up, how their operation is unique, their future plans for the operation, and share advice to people wanting to enter the industry. Get your bicycles tune-up and your picnic baskets stocked-up, it’s time for the first-ever, hopefully-annual Creston Valley Tour de Farm! What: We will meet in downtown Creston and take off for a day of exploring farms in the southern half of the Valley.  Our mission is to showcase the Creston Valley’s agricultural diversity.  Stops along the 26km route will include: a dairy and fromagerie, a small-scale grain farm, a market garden, an orchard, a small-scale greenhouse and livestock farm, and (fingers crossed) a vineyard and winery! A mixed family farm with pasture raised poultry, a market garden, sheep, cattle, and farmers with five to forty-five years of farming experience. We run a small market garden in the Salmon Valley, leasing an acre of land and attending three of the areas farmers markets.
