Funding is available for farmers to support the transition to organic production! The Canada Organic Trade Association (COTA)’s Organic Transition Program assists organic producers financially for their added costs incurred while transitioning to organic farming.  With a booming $6.6 billion in sales, Canada is the sixth largest organic market in the world. Yet, demand continuously outpaces supply, despite double digit production growth. Small and medium-sized businesses are vital to British Columbia’s economy. The Small and Medium-Sized Business Recovery Grant program provides fully-funded grants to businesses to ensure they have the support they need during and beyond COVID-19. How the program works The Small and Medium-Sized Business Recovery Grant program will invest up to $300 million in targeted financial support for some of the hardest hit businesses in B.C. that employ between two and 149 B.C. residents and have experienced declines in revenue since March 10, 2020. Grants of $10,000 to $30,000 are available. B.C. FUNDING: Emergency On-Farm Support Fund – Deadline Nov 17

The Investment Agriculture Foundation is accepting applications for the Emergency On-Farm Support Fund. The program assists agricultural producers with some of the incremental costs for improving the health and safety of farm workers and limiting the spread of COVID-19 in agricultural operations. The program will provide up to $100,000 per recipient in non-repayable, cost-shared funding. Applications must include at least $5,000 in total eligible costs to be considered for the program.
