ABOUT COMMON ACRES COMMUNITY FARM Common Acres Community Farm is a community farm in Squamish, BC dedicated to local food production, community food security and affordable land access. Common Acres started out as a B.C. Land Matching Program (BCLMP) match in 2022 between Squamish Climate Action Network (Squamish CAN) and one acre of ALR land held by Easter Seals, and the community farm now subleases ¼ acre plots to new entrant farmers through the BCLMP. Young Agrarians is celebrating the tenth year of the Business Mentorship Network (BMN) program in BC and the second year of the program in the Prairies! If you are a new farmer or the next generation to take on your family farm and need support to figure out the business aspects of your farm consider applying for the 2024/2025 cohort. The BMN offers business mentorships to a diverse array of new and young farmers/ranchers/producers. Yellow Boot Farm is a regenerative diversified vegetable farm in Black Creek, BC. Leasing farmer Jaclyn Kirby was matched to ¼ acre of land through the B.C. Land Matching Program in September of 2021, and Yellow Boot Farm is now entering its third season on the land.
