A unique community gathering place, the Surrey Urban Farmers Market (SUFM) is a local based non-profit community market located at the North Surrey Recreation Centre beside Surrey Central Mall and the Surrey Central sky-train & bus loop. Our market benefits hundreds to thousands of residents in the Surrey Central City area as well as the small business vendors from all across Surrey, the lower mainland and BC.
The market opens this year on Wednesday June 6th with the last day on Wednesday October 3rd. We are now into our 10th year and host free live music shows, kids’ activities and free events weekly every Wednesday from 2pm to 6pm. Residents can get out and enjoy their community while shopping for delicious local produce, baked goods and beautiful artisan wares; the Market is a great resource for local Surrey families who benefit from the BCAFM Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program.
SUFM provides a genuine local shopping experience allowing customers to meet face to face with farmers, artisans, and performers; boosts the local economy by keeping dollars close to home; supports the future of family farms and food security in Surrey and BC, helps keep good agricultural jobs local; and provides access to free community events to those who would otherwise not be able to take part in their community.
SUFM is a great market to grow with and we’re looking for new farmers to join us! We offer the option to rent the tent & tables or you can bring your own. Electricity is also available. Our requirements are that you make it, bake it or grow it to offer your produce and wares at our market.
You can reach us at info@surreymarket.org and our website is www.surreymarket.org where you can download the vendor application.
