Land Linking Workshop: Networking, Land Access Arrangements, B.C. Land Matching Program & Expert Panel!
GOT LAND? WANT LAND? Are you a landowner looking for farmers? Are you a farmer looking for land? We want you!
Join us for a workshop on the nuts and bolts of land access. Young Agrarians Land Linking Workshops bring together landholders and farmers seeking land to network, explore possible land matches, and learn from land access experts and farmers and land owners who’ve already been matched!
Our B.C. Land Matching Program Manager Darcy Smith and Jolene Swain, Land Matcher for the region, are heading to Prince George for the day to help farmers and landholders across Central & Northern B.C. understand land leasing and other land arrangements. We’ll be sharing key questions to ask, legal considerations, how to assess and manage risk, and how to build and maintain stable land agreements that are mutually beneficial. Plus, farmers and land owners who are land sharing will share their perspectives on leasing, farm start up, and more.
Wondering if you should attend a Land Linking Workshop? Producers (and farmers-to-be) of all types are welcome, whether you grow veggies, raise animals (or bees!), or have some other farming project in mind. We encourage all landholders to join us, whether you’ve just started thinking about the possibility of making land available to lease, or you’ve already put a ton of thought into your vision for your land!
We can’t wait to land link with folk from across the region, from Terrace to Dunster, Fort Nelson to Clinton and everywhere in between! We hope you’ll make the long (for some of you very, very long!) drive to spend the day meeting farmers, landowners, and potentially sparking connections that will lead to matches, leases, and so much more in the future.
Are you on the Young Agrarians UMAP? List your land or future farm dream today! You just might find a farmer who can turn your vacant field into a productive farm, or a landowner who has the ideal piece of land for you!
We have 5 Land Links happening across the province this fall. If you’re somewhere else in B.C. and unable to join us in Prince George, check out our Land Link series of events – plus other land access resources – on our Land page!
The B.C. Land Matching Program is funded in Central and Northern B.C. by the Province of British Columbia, with support from the Real Estate Foundation of B.C.
