7th Annual Spirit of the Land Conference
The conference will examine ‘storytelling’ and the links between place, space, and the stories we tell and share.
The conference program includes:
- Alice Major, writer of 12 collections of poetry, and first poet laureate of Edmonton
- David A. Robertson, graphic novelist and writer and member of Norway House Cree Nations
- Tenille K. Campbell, Dene and Métis poet and photographer from English River First Nation

Spirit of the Land started with a group of students and teachers from the Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta, with support from the Ronning Centre. We were inspired to bring community and spirit to discussions around ecology and economy.
