Young Agrarians Potluck at Left Fields Farm and Crannog Ales!

Posted by Sara Dent on April 22, 2014

Date: Sunday, April 27th, starts at 3:30pm

Location: Left Fields Farm – 706 Elson Road, Sorrento, British Columbia V0E 2W1

The South Interior Young Agrarians hub is kicking off the growing season with a farm and brewery tour, including a tasting of Crannog’s beer. Potluck to follow: bring a dish to share and tools to eat with! Weather permitting there will be a bonfire as well- musical instruments encouraged. Beer will be available after the tasting by donation.

Bring your minds! We hope to have some discussions on where our local food system is going and what we as agrarians can start working on collectively to achieve change within it. It would be great to use the time in getting together as farmers, co-producers and food enthusiasts to collect our ideas, make connections and start working on some projects that would benefit all of us as well as improve our food system. One idea we are particularly enamoured with is the idea of a local distribution and marketing co-op for farmers and would love to discuss this further to see who’s interested and how we can move something like this forward.
