ABOUT THE LAND
The land is a beautiful 45 acres of mixed forest and fields on Quenell Lake in Yellow Point. The owner currently conducts an active agro-forestry operation (Christmas trees, hay, foliage and fruit), but would like to maximize the potential of the land and make growing space available to a new farmer. There is an existing well, rain water collection systems, and water rights to the lake for irrigation.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
There is a small deer fenced garden to begin production, and up to 6 acres of hay field to expand into. Several productive fruit trees could be made available for the farmer to maintain and market. The mixed forest with lots of maple, poplars and coniferous trees could be used for maple syrup tapping, mushroom growing, Christmas greenery sales, etc. There is lots of potential here with both quiet growing space and excellent road exposure for a farm stand. Organic methods are preferred, and farm status would need to be maintained. The land is in the ALR. A trial period of 1-3 years to start could become a long term lease for the right person.
