For fifteen years, Crescent Spur Snowshoe Creek Organics owners, Charles & Elizabeth, have made the Robson Valley their garden home. The property is a 500-acre farm, bordered by the Fraser River along the south and surrounded by the Cariboo and Rocky Mountain ranges. There is a diversity of habitat to support many species of wildlife: large predators and ungulates, many species of waterfowl and predatory birds. Ample opportunities exist for wildlife viewing.

With generous rainfall and excellent silty soil, we have produced abundant crops of organic vegetables, berries, asparagus, rhubarb and hay. With access to a small portable saw mill and our own timber, we have been able to advance construction and maintenance of infrastructure. We have lived comfortably for years in an off-grid frame cabin of under 1000 square feet, plumbed and wired, heated with local, dead standing firewood and a southwest-facing front porch.

Our mission is to share the one acre garden site, practicing biodynamic and organic principles. We are willing to share our knowledge, tools, machinery and implements with skilled, passionate, independent (must have own vehicle) and capable young people. We are in search of those willing to learn, proficient with tools for construction and mechanical repair. Projects include: fencing, greenhouse construction, repairs, gardening, weeding, watering, harvesting, wildlife enhancement projects, clearing walking trails, and any other ideas to enhance and improve the land.

Our goal is to keep a small portion of the garden for our personal use while supporting our young agrarians in their ideas for growth and income. The hay harvest is an opportunity for working together. We are open to a lease agreement for this 2022 growing season, with consideration for an extension. Accommodation is available in a cabin on the property for the ideal candidate.

McBride is 50 km east and Prince George is 180 km west of Snowshoe Creek.  Road access to the property is regularly plowed and maintained. CN rail runs alongside the property with a train stop at the driveway.
