ABOUT THE LAND

This land opportunity is located in Castlegar, a community of about 8000 people at the confluence of the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers, 40 minutes west of Nelson. The land is currently being developed as a homestead with a small orchard, market garden, greenhouse and chicken coup. The property has a pieces spots that are still raw and unfenced, accessed from the same driveway as the main residence.

The residential lot has wifi and cell service. The driving time to downtown Castlegar is 5 minutes. The current owner is just developing this property and looking for some like-minded people to use the land for food production and live in community.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The landowner currently resides on the property in a main residence with a few other adults. There is one room available in the house as well as a few spots on the property that can be developed into spots for mobile units or tiny homes.

There are spots available for further garden and orchard development. The land largely hilled and some trees will be removed by the owner this year to make room for land seekers.

As the land is raw, growing food on it would require investment soil preparation and fencing. There is a water line available at the edge of the available parcel that could be extended for irrigation.

The situation is suitable for someone interested in growing crops like vegetables or perennials and those interested in living somewhat communally and sharing in the abundance that this land opportunity can offer.

The land owners would like to assess fit and interests first, hoping to make a long-term arrangement with the right individuals.
