LAND OPPORTUNITY: 25 ACRES OF PRIME PASTURE OPEN TO IDEAS! – NANOOSE BAY, BC

Posted by Azja Jones Martin on April 06, 2019

ABOUT THE LAND

Stone Spring Farm is located on Vancouver Island at the foothills of Mount Arrowsmith, 0.5 km off Highway 19, in beautiful Nanoose Bay. The picturesque 40-acre ALR property has been in the family for generations and used for various purposes over the years. The mix of sloped land forested riding trails and pasture, with good well water, allows the potential for many ideas to be brought to life.

There are approximately 25 fenced acres of the property are available for farm use. Currently we have 10 in hay production and 15 acres of pasture for horses and grass-fed beef. The land supports a good mix of soil types: well drained and loam that will work for various agriculture applications.

The land holds irrigation potential with a drilled well and cased well both with up-to-date testing. Further, a natural spring and adjacent creek are available if needed, as they have required provincial water licence.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The owners wish to see the farmland maintained and to secure farm status for future years. Ideally, they want to provide the long-term space needed for an ambitious farmer looking to expand a current business or to start up in a new location.

As the land is already perimeter fenced and cross-fenced it is ideal for beef or other livestock. The owners are very open to seeing this space put to new use with a wide range of possibilities such as crops, berries, nuts, market garden, vineyards etc.

Accommodation is readily available on site. With two homes on the property, the main family home has a fully self-contained above ground suite. The second, smaller home is a two-bedroom cottage with a full basement and separate heated garage.

Out buildings on site include a 30’ x 40’ timber-frame barn with a 12’ x 40’ loft. A secondary smaller barn is 20’ x 30. Both barns have water, and good access.
