LAND OPPORTUNITY: 17.6-acre turnkey organic farm with housing – Enderby, BC

We always have new land opportunities coming into our inventory, some of which aren’t on our blog yet! Get in touch with a Land Matcher at bclmp@youngagrarians.org to learn about the latest opportunities and to access free B.C. Land Matching Program services in your region.

ABOUT THE LAND

Located on the outskirts of Enderby with a beautiful view of the surrounding Enderby Cliffs, this turnkey 17.6-acre certified organic farm is now available for lease!

Enderby Organics started as a small family-run venture in the North Okanagan and is now a successful certified organic operation well-known within their community. The farm currently specializes in producing organic garlic and strawberries.

The property has about 15.5 acres of growing space available, split into two adjacent areas: a gently sloped field with access to infrastructure for drip irrigation, and a larger flat field fitted with sprinklers. The entire irrigation system is automatic and can be controlled via phone, and the whole property has the potential to be irrigated. Ample water is available from a private well. The property is partially fenced, and there is very low deer pressure in the area. The soil is incredibly rich and fertile, and the climate is highly favourable for organic vegetable production!

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a turnkey operation, meaning everything is in place for the incoming farmer to jump into production! The opportunities for growing vegetables or berries on this property are endless. The owners/operators of Enderby Organics (who are also the landholders) are currently taking a break from farming, and would love for the farm to remain in production.

The opportunity also includes ample infrastructure, including a large barn for equipment storage, an insulated organic chemical shed, a temperature-controlled seedling room with grow lights, a washroom with a shower, and cold storage.

Additionally, there is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom mobile home that could be made available for rent to the incoming farmer. The landholders are interested in starting with a shorter-term lease (a couple of years), with the potential to extend into a long-term agreement.

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for this opportunity would have experience running a certified organic farm and managing a farm business, as well as operating farm machinery and equipment. As this is an established operation, the ideal candidate would have access to capital and be prepared to continue the farm’s legacy.

There is no equipment currently available, so the incoming farmer would need access to all equipment necessary for an operation of this scale. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced farmer to step into a turnkey organic farm, with housing!
