We always have new land opportunities coming into our inventory, some of which aren’t on our blog yet! Get in touch with a Land Matcher at bclmp@youngagrarians.org to learn about the latest opportunities and to access free B.C. Land Matching Program services in your region.
Nestled between the mountains in Pemberton Meadows, this beautiful 200-acre property on the Lillooet River is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Pemberton town.
Historically, the farm produced commercial seed potatoes, with hay and beef cattle in rotation. The farm has most recently cultivated root crops (potatoes, carrots, beets) and hay, with expanded rotational crops. Currently, 150 acres of the property are in cultivation and fully irrigated by gravity-fed water system from a mountain creek. Many sections of the farm have been chemical-free for at least five years, so a transition to certified organic status could be expedited.
The established infrastructure includes: hay barns and smaller utility outbuildings for equipment, workshop space, supply storage, and a 7,200 square-foot vegetable storage/packing facility equipped with a 30 x 30-foot industrial cold storage room and water. Power is available but there is no cell phone service in the area.
There are also Environmentally Sensitive Areas and riparian zones on the property, and the landholders are actively engaged in the management of invasive species and restoration of these areas.

This opportunity is most suitable for vegetable production – the sandy, loam soil is perfect for root crops in particular!
The existing infrastructure makes this opportunity ideal for a commercial-scale vegetable operation, and there is also farm machinery for planting/harvesting root vegetables available for lease or purchase. Due to the scenic location, there may also be potential for an agritourism component to the farm enterprise.
An incoming farmer would not need to lease the entire 150 acres. The landholders are open to leasing smaller parcels for farmers with strong business plans and clear ideas on how to utilize the space.
For farmers who are relocating, housing may be available for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity would be an experienced farmer ready to take their operation to the next level. They would have a clear business vision and practical plans that they are ready to execute. They would also be passionate about caring for the property and committed to stewarding the land responsibly.
A flexible candidate who has capacity to be collaborative and is open to mentorship but who also has the ability to operate autonomously would thrive in this opportunity!
