Did you know that 92% of farms in Alberta don’t have a transition or succession plan for their farm? At the same time, there’s a growing movement of new and beginning farmers seeking land and farm opportunities.
How we steward the transition of farm land and businesses from one generation to the next is going to have a major impact on the future of agriculture and the food system. It’s time we get the conversation started.
WHAT: Join us for a participatory conversation and hear about the opportunities and challenges of farm transition. Raise questions and expand your thinking through discussions with fellow farmers.
WHO: For current farmers and future farmers thinking about farm transition. Open to those involved in both family and non-family farm transition.
WHEN: Friday, February 21st from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm (Light snacks, coffee and tea will be provided).
LOCATION: Camp Tamarack near Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Follow Highway 40 south, turn east onto secondary Highway 668, turn south onto Range Road 62 and you will find the camp on your left side. Find it on Google Maps.
