From Field to (Book)Shelf

Do you enjoy reading? Are you hungry for new farming-related material to dive into this coming winter? Do you want to share and discuss good books with a group of fellow farmers and readers?
The growing season is almost over in the Peace Country, and the time to resume our winter perch next to the fireplace with a cup of tea and a good book is nearly upon us.
We’re hoping you will join us at our figurative fireplace by becoming a member of Young Agrarians’ FIRST Farmers Book Club.
It can be tricky to find the right folks to discuss farming practices, ideas, and research with. This book club will provide a way to share your book discoveries, explore farming topics of interest to the group, and ultimately, better our farming practices – together!
We are providing chili and homemade sourdough bread for dinner – YA is packin’ the (mild) heat!
Hi, I just came across your page which mentions a farmers book club. I think I’d like to join – is it still running? If it is not running, how did it go? Was it virtual?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi Ute,
Thanks for your comment. This was an in-person event in 2018. We haven’t hosted another one, but if you’re interested in hosting something virtual we’d be open to discussion!
You can send me an email at community@youngagrarians.org
Cheers,
Michalina
