Twin Lakes Golf Course and RV Park in Kaleden, BC is seeking a Garlic Field Manager for the 2019 season!
About Twin Lakes Golf Course and RV Park
Twin Lakes Golf Course and RV Park is a 280 acre property in the Kaleden area. Besides the golf course, we operate a 3 acre (currently) garlic farm as well. It is a fairly new venture for us as this will be the third season in growing operation.
The field itself sits atop of one of the mountains here with amazing panoramic views of the valley!
Here at Twin Lakes, we value our employees as being part of our family and take great pride of all our land resources being on the course, RV park or garlic fields. We strive to keep the integrity of what mother nature has offered us and hope to help maintain our property in such fashion.
All though we are not certified organic currently, we do practice organic ways and are open to any ideas or philosophies the new manager may have.
We are looking for a hard working, reliable individual to manage the fields from all aspects.
Some farming experience would be greatly appreciated. Also understanding soil management as the plot is new and in need of building a profile (cover crops, amendments etc).
Basic over seeing the garlic production in full from start to finished product. Tasks include soil prep, planting, weeding, curing and packaging. As well as managing staff when needed.
Also being able to help out with tasks on the golf course when needed such as mowing, course prep etc.
Term: Estimated end of March start date and running through until mid October.
Hours: 40 hours per week
Wage: Wage will be depending on experience but will start in the midst of $16 to $18 an hour.
Accommodation: Accommodation can be provided free of charge in the form of a holiday trailer in the RV park.
