Rose Cottage Garden in Nelson, BC is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable gardener for the annual growing season in our permaculture garden.
About Rose Cottage Garden
Rose Cottage garden is an urban farm in Uphill Nelson: The 1/3 acre organic gardens at Rose Cottage go back over a 100 years and were able to feed a family of 9 during the Great Depression. Presently there are 100s of species of plants in the gardens.. which surround the Rose Cottage Birthing House where mothers and their families come to give birth.
There are great opportunities to expand the medicine plants, many of which are used for natural birth. Additionally there are heritage fruit and nut trees and rich stories in a book written about this precious land. Permaculture and biodynamic principles and practices are at the root of this organic garden. Rose Cottage Garden is a block away from mountain trails and a 10-15 minute walk to the rich arts and culture of downtown Nelson or a swim in Kootenay Lake.
You are an efficient and experienced gardener, reliable and self-directed, who can set and follow priorities, manage work on your own, and have excellent verbal and communication skills. You have an extensive knowledge and love of plants and are able to work in the seasonal flow.
