ABOUT Seed to Culture

Seed to Culture is a small scale certified organic vegetable farm and fermented food processor. We grow mixed vegetables using organic, regenerative practices on 1 acre of productive land in Lillooet, BC. Our business, as farmers and fermenters, has been in operation for over 5 years but we have been market farmers for over 10 years. We sell our vegetables at 4 Farmers Markets, wholesale to restaurants, and use our vegetables at our small food production facility to make sauerkraut and other fermented products. We also have a small retail location where we sell our vegetables, fermented products, and other Lillooet grown or made products.

Our goal is to create an ecologically, environmentally, and physiologically regenerative business that provides the community with a source of locally produced healthy, delicious product. To create a financially viable preserved food business based around the production of value added healthy fermented products. We value holistic approaches to farming, food production, and consumption. We value practices that are regenerative to the environment and our bodies. Our farm is certified organic and we farm on 2 different properties.


We are looking for a motivated, upbeat, adaptable person to join our team! Punctuality and eagerness to learn is appreciated. Must be willing to work outdoors on hot days, lift up to 40lbs, and work quickly when required. This is hard work and a positive attitude is always helpful.


  • Farm tasks – seeding, planting seedlings, weeding, harvesting vegetables and washing and preparing produce for markets. Basic irrigation set up and maintenance. Field record keeping. Cleaning storage crops, and prepping fields for winter.
  • Kitchen tasks – washing and chopping vegetables, and packaging fermented foods
  • Employees will work alongside the farmers and fermenters daily. Tasks will be explained and demonstrated before the employees are supervised to complete them. As confidence and experience grows, there will be more independence and responsibility given to employees.


Term: We have 1 position starting early-May and ending late-December Early in the season (May-July) the focus will be on the farm and growing the vegetables for the fermented products. From July-September the focus will be divided between the farm and the fermentation kitchen. From September-December the focus will be on fermentation and most days will be in the kitchen.

Hours per week: 32 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible and planned ahead so you know what each week will entail.

Wage: We pay $20/hr and employees get a discount on fermented products and free vegetables weekly.
