Oct 23, 2026: Coombs, BC – Land Sharing Workshop

Oct 23, 2026: Coombs, BC – Land Sharing Workshop

Are you looking for land, or curious about leasing land to a farmer? Join us to learn how the B.C. Land Matching Program can help!

During this free workshop, Ari (Vancouver Island & Gulf Islands Land Matcher) will provide an overview of the B.C. Land Matching Program and share how the program can help farmers and landholders navigate land sharing agreements. There will be opportunities to ask questions, join an introduction circle and meet other attendees, and socialize over light refreshments.

Why share land? The number of farmers in B.C. has been declining for several decades, and local farms are disappearing every year. Farm operators are ageing out of farming and retiring, but with the cost of farmland at an all-time high, many new farmers can’t afford to purchase property to keep the land in production. The B.C. Land Matching Program is a free service designed to support farmers and landholders in connecting for the purpose of sharing farmland. Our annual land sharing workshops offer an opportunity for these folks to meet, connect with each other, and learn how to share land.

We need all hands on deck to tackle the challenges facing the agriculture sector in B.C. – come learn how land sharing can be part of the solution, and how you can get involved!
