Hancock House Publishers & The Hancock Nature Farms are needing a part-time general labourer to help with weekly maintenance, organizing, cleanup and construction on as needed basis. Hours are flexible to fit pre-existing schedules, in return, we simply request that your schedule is predictable.

ABOUT HANCOCK NATURE FARMS

We operate a small 5 acre publishing company and farm operation/ wildlife center. We strive to operate a low impact, sustainable farm operation in the Hazelmere valley.

DESIRED QUALITIES

Required Skills & Experience include:

  • Experience in construction, framing or other related work
  • Experience running tractors, forklifts or other heavy machinery
  • Must be able to lift 60lbs
  • Must be self-motivated, trustworthy and independent
  • Previous farm experience would be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with wildlife or farm animals would be considered an asset
  • Tools will be provided however, someone with personal tools will be considered an asset
  • Must have a personal vehicle
  • Must not smoke
  • Must have a clean criminal record

JOB TASKS

Duties include:

  • helping feed & look after various birds, chickens and goats
  • helping with other farm related activities
  • helping with the general property cleanup and ongoing maintenance
  • helping with yard work and landscaping
  • helping with small construction and renovation needs
  • helping with various publishing needs (ie: organizing books, pallets, etc.)
  • helping with general repairs

JOB DETAILS

Start date: Immediately for the right candidate

Weekly Hours: Between 10-25hrs/week

Wage: Pay rate will be $15-$17 dependent upon experience with a 3-month probationary period.
