At Montgomeryshire Orchard, we are expanding our berry orchard to include fruits and a diverse range of berries inter-planted with nitrogen fixers and vegetables. The applicant for this position will be required to work with us on developing an organic permaculture orchard and vegetable garden.
The goal is to establish an onsite farm market and u-pick operation. We will also be expanding our propagation efforts and have a nursery selling trees and shrubs. You would be involved with all aspects of the orchard from land clearing and new bed setup to seeding, planting, general maintenance, propagation from cuttings and rhizomes, harvesting and hoop structure construction.
Accommodation is a private room and bathroom in our home with daily meals provided. You would assist with meal preparation and cleanup. Wi-Fi is available.
Hours are approximately 40 per week over 5/6 days depending on weather and workload.
Stipend @ $750.00 / month
Duration: May through October.
